What a splended week it has been. I apologize for not writing last week to report, I was going to write and then I woke up today and said wow its already saturday again. Time is flying to fast.
First of all, General Conference was incredible. I will never forget the feelings and impressions that were felt during that conference. It was so very powerful the simplicity and spirit that was felt behind every word that was said and every testimony given. I am trying my very best to apply all that was taught, but I feel like it is very necessary that we go back and read, listen and study the talks given so that we can apply all that was taught. I personally loved the focus on The sabboth day, the sacrement, the importance and need to have the Spirit in our lifes, The power and example of Women and Mothers, and the need the Lord has for us to Shine with all we have in every moment of everyday!
Second, This past week in the Mission Trujillo Norte we had a seventy, Elder Calderon, come and visit our mission with his wife. We, Elder Bond and I, we were incharge of getting everything ready for the tour and making sure it was going to be great. It was only a 2 day tour in the mission, a day in Cajamarca and a day in Trujillo. We spent the first part of the week getting everything ready and then we headed up to Cajamarca on Tuesday. We had a nice drive(President Marler and Hermana Marler, Elder Romero and Heward) enjoying the scenery and friendship. We had a multizone on wednesday which was just us and President Marler, and then on Thursday Elder Calderon Arrived by plane at Cajamarca early in the morning. We had a great meeting there in Cajamarca. This is a small part of my notes that I wrote during this meeting. He talked a lot about how to communicate, how to be bold and teach with the spirit, and how our true identity is the source of being bold and being a true representitive of Christ. This is what I wrote:
My IDENTITY is all to my Father and I. I am a Child of God. I am a Representitive of Christ in every moment of every day. I know in whom I trust and will trust forever. He lives, He is the only way to fullfill my identity and return and live with him and my Father for the Eternity.
As soon as the meeting ended in Cajarmarca we hopped in the car and came back to Trujillo. its about a 6 Hour drive. It was a great car ride back. Elder Calderon was pretty tired from traveling so he took a nap, His wife talked about the whole way back. She is great. A true light.
The meeting in Trujillo was with 8 zones of the mission, about 150 of the best missionaries in the whole world. It was such a neat expierence to be part of that meeting and to learn form a true representitive of the Lord. He taught with such passion and energy. It was a long meeting but the missionaries loved it, They all gleamed with meekness and a desire to learn. it was so neat to see. In this meeting he talked about actitud and Light. How we must be happy, we are servents of the Lord. We must show that happiness to all, in every moment. It reminded me of 1 peter 3:15. We must be sanctified by the Lord and be ready to shine the hope to all and give them a reason to have that hope. The spirit in the meeting was wonderful. The mission was truly edifyed and it was all because we were humble and meek to learn. After the meeting we had a leadership meeting and it was as well incredible. He taught using dynamics and it was a neat expierence for me.
At the end of the Tour, President Marler was very pleased and very content with our efforts. Positive reinforcement from the one who holds the priesthood keys is a very neat expierence.
Which brings me to my studies this past week. I had a few extra hours to study in the car, so I decided to Read DyC 88 and many chapters of 3 nefi when Christ is teaching us all. These are the two parts that hit me the hardest.
DyC 88:67- When we are only focused in the Will of our Father our whole body is filled with LIGHT.
3 nefi 19:28-30- We must be purified by the spirit to be able to Shine, and when we shine with that light, the pureness, the Lord SMILES.
The favorite quote of Elder Bond says this:
The greatest of all Gifts is the SMILE OF GODS APPROVAL.
Les amo bastante!
Temple recommends of two people I rescued in my first area!!!
Group hug! Saying goodbye to a great Elder!
I sure Love this group of missioanries, they have all helped me so much!
A night we will never forget. WE found this guy in a small store buying a loaf of bread for dinner and we decided to talk with him, and then we asked if he could play a few songs on his according cause he was really good, and then we walked him over to the mission home. It was great! His name is Nelson. An Angel.
