In my life I have seen the Hand of the Lord, reach out to support those who are tried and afflicted. I have been so very blessed with this blessing to see and observe. I know that Christ Lives, and that he is real. He protects his saints!
Dear Family, and Loved ones
This week had been a week of Miracle after Miracle after Miracle. I can stand before all today and say the miracles exisit, and they exisit because of the Atonement of Christ.
Of all the many things I can tell you and write to you today, I will focus on the biggest thing that changed my Life and Mission.
Many of us wonder why trials and opposition are so vital in the Plan of our Heavenly Father, and many times I have wondered why its so important. Throughout my life I have been surrounded by trials and afflicions, and I have not been the tried or afflicted, I have been the observer.
This past week, our Ward Casa Grande had the chance to enter into the Trujillo Temple with a group of Youth to do Baptisms for the Dead, it was the first time for many of them, and they each had there own names, there ancestors. The Stake President was there, our Bishop and his wife, the most amazing example of trials, Kengo and Susanna our penshy(the woman and his husband that cook and do our laundry) and about 10 youth. They all entered into the temple, and had such an incredible expierence. As they were traveling back in a combi, or a small bus, the Driver( an Alma Rescued named Avelino) fell asleep at the wheel, this was at about 2:30 in the afternoon, the were headed right towards a trailer on the road, when he was awaken and over corrected and flipped the small bus, it rolled about 3 times, nobody had seatbelts on, and the combi was very old.
Elder Cowley and I, were planning on going to the temple trip, we had it in our agenda, but for some and many reasons we were not there. We didnt go because we thought on of the recent converts was going to go, but then ended up she did actually go.
The Bishop and his wife and Kengo all ended up in the Hospital in Trujillo with ribs broken and many other problems, the youth all were okay, with only minor bumbs and brusies, but all were very shaken up. An accident in which many should have passed away, but as we read in DyC 109:22 as we leave the temple we leave with angles. We had the chance to visit many of the youth and to promise this blessing and that they had been kept safe from all harm, by angles.
This Ward has been so oppressed, so very tried in these past few weeks. But as we entered the sacrement meeting, the bishop was in the hospital (his conselors were relieved last week) so there was a lot of support by the stake, There was a spirit of Hope, and desires to continue on. The trials always make us better, the affliction always makes us stronger. We are tried so that we can only rely on Christ.
In my life I have seen the Hand of the Lord, reach out to support those who are tried and afflicted. I have been so very blessed with this blessing to see and observe. I know that Christ Lives, and that he is real. He protects his saints!
Come Como ye Saints! Oh esta Todo Bien!
My companion, Elder Cowley will be finishing his mission this week, he has been a JOY, an eternal Friend! The Journey continues on, but with a smile!!
